In this moment of loss, we are reminded of the mystery of co-inherence—the way sorrow and hope can dwell side by side. As Easter approaches, we hold space for both the grief of lives lost and the spirit of renewal that this season invites.
Hof Law joins the Mayor, the Commissioners of the City’s Emergency Management, Fire and Police Departments, and all emergency managers and first responders in mourning the tragic loss of six lives in the April 10, 2025 helicopter crash in the Hudson River. The tragic loss of five individuals from the same family visiting from Spain demands that we pause to pray and extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, loved ones, and all who are grieving on the Iberian Peninsula and beyond.
“We are particularly saddened by this loss during the immediate days preceding the commencment of Holy Week,” said Joe Hof, Organizer, Member and Managing Attorney of Hof Law, LLC. “The firm is taking a moment to pause and think about all the folks who must be grieving and utilizing their Catholic traditions as a strength during this trying time." In Spain, most folks identify as actively Catholic or lapsed Catholic.
At Hof, where a connection to Spain is felt very personally, rest assured that this loss resonates closely with the firm standing in solidarity with the people of Spain in the wake of this tragedy. As such, the firm offers sincerest prayers for comfort and healing during this trying time.
May God bless our first responders and the larger international community of travelers who choose to visit the Empire and Garden States, and may God continue to bless the souls of the faithful departed.
